HeadHunter: New COVID pandemic hurts recovery of Russian labor mkt
MOSCOW, Nov 16 (PRIME) – A new COVID-19 pandemic has slowed down recovery of the Russian labor market, but the amount of job vacancies has not decreased, online recruiting service HeadHunter said in a research published on November 14.
“In the second half of October, the labor market suffered from a second onset of the pandemic. The recovery trend registered since June has slowed down, even though the amount of job vacancies did not contract. In October, job vacancies on hh.ru outperformed the figure for September only by 1%, while growth in annual terms is more noticeable at 18%,” the research read.
Competition for jobs contracted in mid-autumn as compared with the pre-pandemic period -- there were six active CVs per one job vacancy on average as compared with seven CVs in February–March.
Demand for employees edged down at the beginning of November, and the amount of active job vacancies rose only in the North Caucasus Federal District, the service said.
